  19. It may be software or hardware:
  20. software-case: Does it crash even on a "clean" system, i.e. with only
  21.                on it, too? If not, there might be a tool or patch that
  22.                has problems with 3.1 that for some odd reason don't show
  23.                up on an A2000.
  24. hardware-case: What RAM configuration do you use? Did you mess around with
  25.                RAM-speed jumpers or Ramsey settings? Did you intermix
  26.                Page-Mode and Static-Column DRAM? OS3.1 handles initialization
  27.                of Ramsey (for DRAM) different from OS2.x and likely breaks if
  28.                the configuration is invalid.
  29.                Do you overclock your board/the CPU?
  30.                OS3.1 scsi.device is much more sensible to an improper
  31.                configured SCSI-bus than OS2.x was, do you have correct
  32.                termination and cabling?
